From installed to backed up in four steps
Two of them are a paste, one is a click, and the fourth is us. About two minutes end to end, and the longest part of that is Framer's own API key screen.
- 01 Install
Install the plugin
FrameRewind is on the Framer Marketplace. Installing it puts the panel in your project, the same as any other plugin.
One click - 02 Activate
Paste your license key
Your key is shown on screen the moment you subscribe, and e-mailed to you as well. Open the panel, paste it, press Activate. It is remembered after that, so this happens once per browser.
Lost the key later? Recover it here with the e-mail address you subscribed with.
Seconds - 03 Connect
Connect a site
The plugin hands you a one-time link to framerewind.com. On that page you paste two things: the address of your Framer project, straight from the address bar, and a Framer Server API key. The plugin itself never sees the key, which is why this step leaves the panel.
The API key is the one part that is not a single click: you create it in Framer's own project settings under API Keys, and Framer shows it only once, so copy it before closing that screen. The connect page walks you through it in order.
A minute or so - 04 Done
Snapshots run without you
Your first snapshot is taken within the hour, then daily or weekly depending on your plan. It runs on our servers, so nothing needs to be open: not the plugin, not the project, not your laptop.
Nothing to do
See what changed, restore what you need
Every snapshot can be compared against your live CMS, down to a single field. What you put back is your choice: one field, one item, or the whole snapshot. There is a working preview of that on the home page.
Nothing to configure before you install
Installing the plugin costs nothing and changes nothing in your project. It asks for a license key when you open it, so pick a plan when you are ready to use it.
